Some time ago, I saw Jonathon Ross interview Mickey Rourke who mentioned that he owned a number of Chihuahuas. At the time I did wonder if the Chihuahua in Once Upon a Time in Mexico was his own. Today, I finally got around to checking and according to this thread on the IMDB, yes, it was.

Mickey has had several chihuahuas in the past and present. Mostly known is "Loki" who was on the set.. BUT not in the movie. The name of the blonde chihuahua in OUATIM is "Taco." "Loki" was a tad jealous from time to time and went on walks with RR's wife at the time, Elizabeth. :)

ReplyDeleteI was surprised by his choice of dogs, but I suppose it proves the adage that strong men don't need tough dogs to impress anyone.
